Face Of The Day #2

My second FOTD!

Face

Eyebrows

Eyes

Lips

I love this makeup look, and I think I am getting more comfortable with wearing brighter colours.
I am thinking of buying some dark purples and deep burgundy lipsticks next.
Perhaps one day I will brave a bright pink.

I hope you liked this post, and again if you would like to see more FOTD posts let me know in the comment section below :)

My ELF Purchases!

ELF is a brand which I have heard loads of reviews about and that they're products are great value for money. After buying the ELF Studio Powder brush (post here) and loving it, I thought I would purchase a few more items.

ELF Studio Eyebrow Kit - I had been wanting to get an eyebrow kit for so long, and had so many on my list to try. I decided to get this one first as I had heard great reviews and its a fab price, only £3.75.

I am so pleased with this little kit, it does exactly what I want so perfectly and easily. I can define my brows without them looking fake and it allows my brows to look natural, as you can see the hairs through the product. In the kit there is a wax, powder and a teeny tiny-brush.

There are many different ways to use the product - here are 3:

            • You can apply the wax first and then add the powder on top.
            • You can apply the powder and then add the wax second.
            • You can mix the wax and powder together and then apply both at the same time.

I tend to do a mixture of the 3 depending on what I feel like, but if i'm in a rush I usually just mix the two products and whack it on! I am currently using the Real Techniques angled brow brush to apply the product to my brows, but I want to get a thinner angled brush to have more control, so my brows look more precise.

ELF Studio Makeup Mist & Set - I decided to get this product as a test to see if I would like setting sprays.

ELF say: "Keep your makeup in place all day with a radiance boosting invisible hold. Spray on after makeup application to set makeup in place or during the day for a quick touch-up to refresh."

I really like this product, I feel it sets my makeup really well and it always freshens me up when I spray it throughout the day. However I am not sure if I agree that it keeps my makeup in place all day. I feel that it does set and prolong the wear of my makeup but not for a noticeable amount of time. I will continue to use this product as I like that it sets my makeup and gives me a dewy look.

ELF Blush in the shade Peachy Keen - I love this blush so much. I was just browsing through all the products on the ELF website and as soon as I saw this colour it was straight in my basket.

I really like peach shades for blusher and just knew I had to try this out. Peachy Keen is a gorgeous peachy orange shade. I find that a lot of peach colours tend to be more pink based, whereas this is definitely more orange toned.

The formula of this blush is really lovely, it's soft and slightly powdery. I use the Real Techniques Blush Brush to apply this product and I find that you can easily lightly dust it on but also really build it up for a more intense look.

I am really loving ELF products and can't wait to get some more. Also I just found out ELF are opening a store in Cardiff - eeek exciting! I am so looking forward to visiting it :)

#Bloggoween!

I have an exciting post for you today. I am taking part in #bloggoween

Bloggoween was organised by
Charley Lucy from Rambling of a Beauty Blogger and Molly Lyon from Lyon Notes

They came up with the idea of organizing an event where all bloggers would write a post about Halloween, whether it be fashion, beauty or lifestyle related and then we would all post them on the same day at the same time and have a huge twitter chat discussing what we love about Halloween and getting ideas to celebrate it.

As this blog is mainly beauty based, I decided to write about the beauty side of the Halloween and share with you a few makeup looks you could create for the event.

This first picture is of a quick makeup look I designed when I was bored messing around with eyeliner. It's not the best picture but thought I'd share it with you anyway.

Don’t Hate, Appreciate TAG!

Feeling down? or just want some inspiration? ..keep reading!

Last week I saw Charl from 'Ginger Girl Says' really make sense of a situation happening in the blogging community. Charl wrote a post all about the negative atmosphere which has been arising recently. In her post there were some really good points made including;

              • we're not in primary school anymore, no playgrounds.
              • we are all in the same boat and all have the same passions.

I totally agree with Charl's post, instead of fighting/bitching/moaning with or at each other we should be praising each other. Helping one another and backing each other up.

I have to say the majority of us already do that, and we all seem to get along swimmingly.
A lot of us are great friends with other inspiring bloggers and appreciate each others advice.

At the end of Charl's post she announced that she had made a TAG to help share the love and positivity in the blogging world.
-This is what I am going to share with you today.

Don’t Hate, Appreciate TAG!
"I want you to tag 3 bloggers/blogs who inspire you. They can inspire you because you like their make up or they always dress nice or they make you laugh or you want to get drunk with them – I don’t care. They don’t have to be your best bloggy buddy, they don’t even have to know that you exist, they can be the Fleur de Forces or Tanya Burr or Jane from down the street who’s just signed up to Blogger and writes about what her cat does all day – as long as that blogger inspires you.
When you’ve written your post, tag them and then let them know on Twitter that you tagged them – tell them you love them, tell them they rock your world and you want to take them out for a Pumpkin Spiced Latte at Starbucks – lets get some positivity up in this blogger-sphere."

I'm sorry Char'l, but I kinda cheated and tagged 4 lovely bloggers.
It just means i'm sharing more love!

Tattoo Tea Lady
http://www.tattooedtealady.com/

I love Sophia's blog. With her straight forward opinionated reviews, always crystal clear AND pretty photographs and her love for everything beauty, she never fails to disappoint. Sophia inspires me with posting what it seems like every day and sometimes more. I think it really keeps the readers interested, well it certainly makes me come back to read more. I think perhaps this is something I can learn from Sophia and really improve my blog. Her posts are consistent but always so detailed and full of personality.

Cosmetic Crave
http://www.cosmeticcrave.com/

This is the blog that I love for everything make up. Hannah always has detailed reviews with loads of large clear pictures. Her photographs are one of the main focus points of her blog. I love how she describes and demonstrates the products through her photos and it's always easy to understand how she feels about all the products she mentions. I always read Hannah's blog for beauty advice, and somehow spend a lot of money, as I have to buy nearly all the products she recommends hehe.

EmTalks
http://www.emtalks.co.uk/

Em is such a babe! Em's style of writing is incredible, she writes with such flare and personality and always shares great interesting content. It is one of those blogs where you can't stop reading - I'm addicted! Em writes about a range of topics including; beauty, fashion, food, travel and healthy lifestyle. Her blog design is sleek and simple and she always has amazing photographs. I love Em and her blog, and I think she is so inspiring.

Fleur De force
http://www.fleurdeforce.blogspot.co.uk/

The lovely Fleur. Her blog was one of the first ever blogs I started reading. I guess in a way she was the one who inspired me to write about my love for beauty. To be correct my sister introduced me to blogs but after reading Fleur De Force's blog for a few months I decided to give it a go myself. Fleur has a simple template from blogger but the thing I love most about her blog is the content. Fleur always writes about interesting topics within beauty and I know I can trust her opinions on the products. Fleur also has 3 YouTube channels which I absolutely love.

I would love it if any of you do Charl's TAG, it really does share the positivity of our blogging community.

Shopping in Cardiff.. AGAIN!

I think I have an addiction to shopping. Lately I have been doing a lot more shopping than usual! Maybe it's because I have a job and am now earn money, or maybe its because there a loads of things I just MUST have - my bank balance doesn't seem to like this though. Nevertheless I have found some lovely new things.

I had heard so many great reviews about the Lee Stafford Hair Growth range, and after Umming and Ahhing for a while I decided the first product I would try from the range was the 'Treatment for Hair that never grows past a certain length'.

Next I picked up the Neutrogena T/Gel shampoo for greasy hair. I have been trying many different shampoo's for greasy hair recently, and though i'd give this one a whirl.

Whilst looking at all the stands in boots, I noticed Bumble and Bumble. I have never tried anything from this brand, and while speaking to the lady about the condition of my hair, she suggested I tried a sample of the thickening shampoo and conditioner

An essential purchase of mine every 1-2 months is root touch-up. I love this is one as it's the perfect colour for my hair at the moment.

As soon as I heard Real Techniques were launching this little baby, I just knew I had to get it.
I had been lusting for the original beauty blender for ages, but just couldn't justify the price. Although I had heard about dupes I never got round to buying one.

After going to a MAC counter for the first time and picking up the Studio Fix Fluid Foundation, I knew it was love. The only problem was gradually the shade got too dark for me as I lost my tan. So whilst browsing the other products I picked it up in a lighter shade.

I also purchased two new MAC eyeshadows for my palette. The shades I got were Folie and Cranberry. Folie is a satin finish and Cranberry is a frost finish.

Finally I brought a pair of boots. The boots I did have were black lace ups and were falling to pieces. If it rained while wearing them, my feet would get soaked.
I brought these gorgeous brown buckled boots from new look, and they are so comfy. The fur edge is so soft and the boots really keep my feet warm.

Hope you enjoyed reading this post :)
Let me know in the comments what you have been purchasing recently and whether you have found any favourites.
